  6.   Have you ever tried to use the XFS filesystem to access your
  7.   (PC formated) ZIP Disks, and found it to be VEEERY slow!?
  8.   I did, and recently I found the reason for this problem. I
  9.   told the author of XFS about it - and hopefully we'll see a new
  10.   and much faster XFS soon. Until then, XFSSpeedUp provides a
  11.   partially workaround for the problem, increasing at least the
  12.   reading speed.

  14.   XFSSpeedUp only speeds up reading, the write accesses to the
  15.   disk are still slow. It would be much more difficult to speed
  16.   up write access as well.

  18.   Without XFSSpeedUp, I have meassured a read/write speed of about
  19.   20KB/sec with XFS and a PC formated ZIP disk. (My SCSI ZIP drive
  20.   is connected to the UW-SCSI of my CyberstormPPC.)

  22.   With XFSSpeedUp I have meassured a read speed of about 300KB/sec,
  23.   that is about 15 times as fast! (But still not as fast as possible
  24.   with a new XFS version!)
